Women’s economic empowerment

Woman makes critical contributions to their families and communities and to national and global economies. In Bangladesh entrepreneurship status of the population shows that out of 47% self employed citizen, women make only 8.3% but  Bangladesh has fantastic opportunities to improvement woman’s economic because women here are meritorious, hard worker, innovative and love to take challenges. Beside this, women make nearly half of the population which means huge potential to be utilized for socio economic development of the country. To empower woman economically, Enterprise Competitiveness Institute is taking initiative to implement them by-

  1. Enabling woman to mobilize community resources and public services, providing support to meet the challenges of their enterprise development.
  2. Enabling women to articulate their own aspirations and strategy for change of entrepreneurship
  3. Enabling women to develop their necessary skills, build capacity and access the necessary resources to achieve their aspirations
  4. Enabling women to examine and articulate their collective interests, to organize to achieve them and to link with other women’s and men’s organizations for change.

To empower women economically, ECI is also working to organize Business training, dialogue on social and economical development issue, decision-making, promoting women’s enterprises, policies and programs encouraging and supporting women entrepreneurship, carrying out socio economic studies, research and survey for women engaged in the industrial sector etc.
